I’M STARTING A RADIO SHOW – ‘SPIRIT AND ROOTS’

I’M STARTING A RADIO SHOW – ‘SPIRIT AND ROOTS’

I’m thrilled to announce I am hosting my own monthly radio show, Spirit and Roots, on K2K Radio – London’s #1 digital station.

Starting Tuesday 12th March (9-10pm GMT), I will welcome a singer-songwriter guest each week to perform some tracks live and talk about their art, inspirations, and influences – as well as spin some some great music.

I’d be so happy to have you join me on this new musical journey! To listen, visit here and press the top right-hand corner ‘Play’ button OR the red ‘Listen Now’ button:

All past shows will be uploaded to Mixcloud website – links to be shared on future posts.

This week my very first guest will be Peter Conway, one of the best songwriters I’ve had the pleasure of knowing in London. Take a listen:

A huge thanks to everybody who contributed to its completion – I’ve been lucky to have worked with some special people:
Guy Farrow, Barbara Bartz, Jamie Shaw, Lyle Zimmerman, Dave Nichols, Andy Dewar, Maria Rivington, Lawrie Wright, Alan Gibson, Steve Simpson, Charlie Hart, Des Horsfall, Frank Mead, Geraint Watkins, BJ Cole, James Harry Oakwood, Andrea Lepori and Greg Holme.

And thanks to Colin Bodiam for releasing it through Deep River Records, Paul Martin for the photography and Amy Sullivan-Bodiam and William Molho for their help with the design.

And lastly to Fiona Struthers, to whom this album is dedicated X

It wasn’t the easiest of records to complete, none of them have been for me, but, listening back to it whilst uploading the tracks, I feel I’ve done these songs justice and I’m excited to see them go out now into the world.

Thank you everyone for the consistent support. I’m currently in the US working on some projects here, but look forward to coming back to the UK and Europe in Autumn.

And, if you haven’t already seen the video trailer for the new album, please check it out – James Smith has done an incredible job:

NEW ALBUM TRAILER

Just a couple of days to go now until the release of my second album on 7/7/2017 and I’m very happy to share this fantastic promo film for it here:

The trailer was directed and conceived by my good pal, James Smith, who also produced the documentary on me, ‘Can’t Go Back’, that was released last year and is available to view through my YouTube channel.

He has, once again, done an amazing job. And a big thank you must also go to the rest of the amazing team who made this possible:

Produced by Zest Productions / Tim Maynard, DOP – Tom Hooker, Sound Design – Two Ears/ Soren Andersen, Editors James Smith and Tim Maynard, Motion Graphics – Chris Kiernan

NEW SINGLE MADE CLASSIC ROCK MAGAZINE’S TRACK OF THE WEEK

I’m happy to share that ‘Pay Day’ the lead track from the new album has been made one of Classic Rock magazine’s featured tracks of the week, alongside new releases by the Foo Fighters and Deep Purple. Nice for a folkie to get some love from the rock world!

“Looking at the moody cover shot of (Indian/British singer) Dan with his acoustic, we figured we may have a soft, folky troubadour type on our hands. The reality of Pay Day, however, is much more buoyant, with deliciously rich electric lines cutting through rootsy guitar and fiddle. It’s folk rock with real sparkle. No wonder Neil Young likes him.”
